Hello Paul

I purchased a set of 9' drift boat oars from you recently and told you I would offer my opinion of them. I won't spend much effort trying to describe the looks of these oars as others better qualified in describing such things can do that. I will just say the craftsmanship is superb! But I do think I am qualified to give these oars an accounting as to their function and durability.

I have been pulling on your oars chasing steelhead in southern Oregon for awhile now. I row in just about every class of water and have never used better oars. I did have to adjust to the oars wider blade and thicker handles. Both of which I appreciate now. I had thought at first that I would turn the handles down some but changed my mind after the first long drift trip. I have already forgotten what to do with my thumb on smaller handles!

These 9' oars are shorter than I have been using but as I suspected they are a better fit to my boat than longer oars. The wide oars get a very good bite with a minimum of effort. And the beefy shafts have just a touch of flex in them to keep my shoulder joints in the socket when I must really lean in to the rowing frame to stop the boat in the faster water. I'm sure most river rats understand just how important this is over a full day of drift fishing. I'm a pretty big guy and have broken my share of oars over the years. Your beefy oars have taken my hardest pulling with absolutely NO problem and short of sticking an oar under a rock in moving water an oarsman will likely never break these.

Paul, drift boaters, guides, and even a few rafters have looked these fine oars over. They were all anxious for me to give my first report on the new oars function and durability. I have only to say that I'm sold on your oars now and in the future and have said this to all that inquired. Thanks for a great deal and great set of oars.

I finally got your oars wet on Saturday. I'm amazed at how well they match my boat. I couldn't have matched them better if I had built them myself! They flex beautifully when you really haul on them, but are very gentle on the shoulders.

Just to let you know, your oars worked great on our MF Salmon trip. We did break a Gull wooden oar but yours did fine. Thanks for making a good product. I am sure I'll order from you again - I'll also spread the word.

Hi Paul,

I finally found the time yesterday to take the boat out and use the oars for the first time. Wow what a difference they make. The oars are perfect length, they fit my hand like a glove, and they are light and powerful. I was surprised how little effort it took to keep the boat moving along at a fast pace. It was a lot of fun. I’m sure I’ll be taking the boat out regularly just for the fun of rowing around.

I've been pretty busy the last week and had completely forgot about my oars..... It felt like Christmas morning to have a package arrive this morning! Then I opened it up and.... all I can say is thank you thank you thank you. I really apreciate the quality of your work. A co-worker was passing by and had to stop to take a peak. "You can tell he likes his work" is what he said, and I have to agree. There's a big difference in quality between someone who treats a project /product like it's just a paycheck, and the craftsman that treats a project/product like a way of life. I've put a lot of time, heart, struggle and soul into the building my first boat. I'll row it with pride when it's done, and your oars are a perfect compliment to it. They aren't just any set of oars among many from a factory, they are one of a kind quality oars. My boat deserves nothing less. Such a great deal too! I can't believe the price! I'll spread the word.

I recieved my oars sat when I got home from vacation and they look amazing. Just wanted to give you major Props they are great. I can't wait to get a chance to fiberglass them and test um out and I will be sure to let you know how they work. Oars arrived with stunning speed & meticulous packing. As I suspected, the main problem is that the oars are just too pretty for rough use. Very thrilled & appreciative. I tried out the oars on my sailboat yesterday for about an hour. The added length and lightness makes all the difference. There is no gunwale scraping now and in glassy water I can comfortably drive the hull between 2.0 and 2.5 knots. I had to make a minor modification to allow for storage of the oars below decks and that worked out well. I couldn't be more pleased. Thanks again for a great product.
